How will the socioeconomic effects of COVID-19 affect the Swedish healthcare system?

Money is now being transfered to municipalities and regions to handle the acute effects of Covid19. But what happens next? At the end of April SALAR will present its new prognosis for the development of the tax base in municipalities and regions. A challengeing and maybe transformational time for Swedish healthcare.

How will the socioeconomic consequences of COVID-19  affect the regions’ economies? Will the heatlhcare system manage to deliver equal healthcare to patients in an even more strained economic situation, and how are the possiblitites to continue and take on new and innovative treatments and technology? Will the dynamic between the state and the regions change, and if so how? What will be the main influence in the healthcare policy in the time leading up to the election in 2022?

We will discuss together with an experienced panel:

  • Anders Borg, former Minister of Finance
  • Marie Morell, Chairperson in SALAR’s Delegation on Healthcare
  • Dag Larsson, Member of the Pariament’s Committee on Social Affairs
  • Anders Åkesson, Senior Advisor in Rud Pedersen Public Affairs & former Region Commissioner in Region Skåne will moderate the discussion.

During the webinar, it will be possible to pose questions to the panel.
