Blue Deal Debate #2: Global Governance for Sustainability

Saving the world’s oceans: How can we secure ocean governance? Chris Davies is joined by Anders Jessen, Head of Unit at DG MARE, Amanda Nickson, Director of International Fisheries at The Pew Charitable Trusts, and Camiel Derichs, the Marine Sustainability Council’s Programme Manager.

The series features discussions on the essential need for a European Blue Deal in parallel with the European Green Deal, and how sustainability can be achieved throughout all sectors. Our debates will focus on the inclusion of all relevant stakeholders, with cooperation needed for progress. Central questions, such as how we can protect biodiversity while giving a secure future for industries, will drive the debate. Our aim is to provide you with food for thought from some of Europe’s thought leaders on a challenge that is not going away.
