Under the Microscope #1: One Substance, One Assessment

With the European Commission consulting on its Sustainable Chemicals Strategy road map, we are discussing the concept of ‘One substance, one assessment’ as the EU develops the next phase of its chemicals policy.

While REACH is seen as the centrepiece of global chemicals regulation, questions of its coherence and consistency with other legislation, such as RoHS and Eco-Design, remain. During the debate, we  address how the current systems can and should be improved in light of recent studies and reviews from the Commission as well as industry experience.
